As I previously reported about Britain introducing Sharia Law on the books, it brought to mind some Archaic British Laws on the books, some even on the books today, though never used anymore as most people read them and laugh at what was touted as a Progressive society a few hundred years ago and up to the 19 century.

I hope some will enjoy reading these Laws of Insanity. 

Certainly shows how far we have progressed into a modern society, versus some who still cling to brutal old ways a millennium ago.  

Certainly one can see why Monty Python was invented!

The Big Book of British Laws

• Under the reign of Elizabeth I, any person found guilty of "harboring a Catholic priest" would be tortured or even hanged. Any priest of the Catholic faith that was caught would be hanged, drawn, and quartered.


• With the exception of carrots, most goods may not be sold on Sunday.


• All English males over the age 14 are to carry out 2 or so hours of longbow practice a week supervised by the local clergy. Explanation: This law dates from the middle ages when there was no standing army, so in times of war each gentry was required to produce a quota (depending on its size) of knights, archers, infantry, etc. As the church was the only centralized instrument of bureauacracy (the lords were independent for the most part), they were used for such tasks.


• London Hackney Carriages (taxis/cabs) must carry a bale of hay and a sack of oats. Explanation: The London Hackney Carriage Laws covers hackneys in other towns too and have remained unaltered for over 100 years. Firms have been known to manufacture very small bales of hay to carry in a taxi during disputes during local councils (who license the hackneys everywhere except London). Also the vehicle has to be tethered at a taxi rank, and the council have to supply a water trough at said ranks (that could be fun on a Saturday night!). The one about urinating against the back wheel is a Hackney Carriage Law too, and has also been done, on mass, during taxi/council disputes (allegedly).


• The severest Penaltys will be suffered by any commoner who doth permit his animal to have carnal knowledge of a pet of the Royal House (enacted by George I).


• It is illegal to be drunk on Licensed Premises (in a pub or bar).


• It is illegal for two adult men to have sex in the same house as a third person. Explanation: Introduced to outlaw "molly houses" which began to appear in the big cities of England in the late 16th Century. In these bordellos, homosexuals engaged in sex, sado -masochism, transvestitism etc., and they were perceived as a threat to public morality, and so outlawed.


• Any person found breaking a boiled egg at the sharp end will be sentenced to 24 hours in the village stocks (enacted by Edward VI).


• It is illegal to stand within one hundred yards of the reigning monarch when not wearing socks (enacted by Edward VI).


• Chelsea Pensioners may not be impersonated. Explanation: Chelsea Pensioners are entitled to enhanced state benefits and subsidized accommodation, so pretending to be one is simply fraud!


• A bed may not be hung out of a window.


• It is illegal for a lady to eat chocolates on a public conveyance.


• Mince pies can not be eaten on Christmas day. Explanation: Ingredients of mince pies and plum puddings were pagan in origin, and their consumption part of ancient fertility rituals. The law dates from the Puritan era, the same time that dancing in church, maypoles, and holly and ivy decorations were outlawed. The laws were never officially repealed because upon the restoration of the monarchy, (in the form of Charles II) all laws formed under the protectorate were ignored as invalid.


• Any boy under the age of 10 may not see a naked mannequin.


• It is illegal to leave baggage unattended. Explanation: Many terrorists in the UK favor the practice of placing a bomb in a bag, then leaving the bag to explode later. Since this became a real threat, this law was passed to deter the crime and prosecute those who commit it.


• Picking up abandoned baggage is an act of terrorism. See above.


• It is illegal for a Member of Parliament to enter the House of Commons wearing a full suit of armour. Explanation: The law dates from the renegotiation of royal/political power on the accession of Charles II, designed to stop the MPs storming the house if it makes a decision they disapprove of. The Monarch is not allowed to enter the House of Commons (the legislative house) for similar reasons


• Destroying or defacing money is illegal.


• If a steam locomotive is driven on roads, a man must walk in front of the vehicle with a red flag during the day and a red lantern at night to warn passersby.


• All steam locomotives are limited to 4mph on roads.


• Anal sex is prohibited.


• You may not make out in public.


• It is legal for a male to urinate in public, as long it is on the rear wheel of his motor vehicle and his right hand is on the vehicle. Explanation: One of many Hackney Carriage Laws that have been unaltered for over 100 years, and it has alledgedly been done on mass during taxi/council disputes.


• Committing suicide is classified as a capital crime.


• Interfering with the mail or sleeping with the consort of the Queen is classed as treason, and as such, carries a maximum penalty of death.


• Placing a postage stamp that bears the Queen (or King) upside down is considered treason.


• One may not "blemish the peace".


• A license is required to keep a lunatic.


• Damaging the grass is illegal.


• In Chester, you can only shoot a Welsh person with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight.


• You may not shoot a Welsh person on Sunday with a longbow in the Cathedral Close in Hereford.


• In Liverpool, it is illegal for a woman to be topless in public except as a clerk in a tropical fish store.


• In London, companies may vote in local elections.


• In York, excluding Sundays, it is perfectly legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow.

When I say, as I have previously stated in my past stories. Islam, in fact most major religions are in place to solidify that it has always been a Man's World, no ifs, ands, or buts, Get used to it Ladies.

It just seems in a modern society Islamic Zealots have taken it to the nth degree. One can be sure moderate followers of Islam would like nothing better than for this to go away.  It  feels like they are weeding out the non Islamic or not as Zealous Herd!

As these undated photos attest, certainly a country which needs a collective Bitch Slap.

The Somali people are starving and dying, aid rarely reaches them, either the corrupt Government  (We support with Aid) steals it or the Islamic militants and other so called Freedom Fighters steal it for themselves.

Is it any wonder the World feel no empathy to a country in which it's own citizens clearly will not stand up to stop ever changing regimes and off shoot militias, preferring Western Armies to lay down their lives on their behalf?  Par for the course if you ask me!

It is clear Islamists in Somalia have only one goal and it isn't peace or helping the citizenry. What many may ask themselves, if indeed Islam is one of the worlds largest Ideologies, why are these zealots who preach death and destruction are allowed to do so?

Why are these Zealot Clerics not found by fellow Muslims, stripped of their vestments and status, jailed or put to the sword? Lead me to believe either they do not care, or perhaps like  wheat in the windy field, the undecided will join whoever is the victor in all this ongoing horrendous situation, hence being part of the Worldwide problem instead of a Global Solution! 

Why is it always Westerners who must help and intervene, why not YOU!  It is your people and culture, your ideology!  

Riding on our Safe and Secure coattails of Democracy is not the answer if you refuse to be part of it!

If you are a billion strong, then perhaps you should be pulling your weight on the international stage and stop this!

It seems every time we read a media report on Islam, it's not good, leaving many to believe, perhaps this is not an exception to the rule anymore, as time and time again stories like this keep hitting the presses.  Currently in the World today the majority of countries under Islam seem to be engaged either in War or Crisis and have been for decades.  Do you see where I am going with this?  Hello! What does this tell you!  Islam ain't seem to be working! And Britain is introducing Islamic Law into it's Court system? Holy Hitler! WTF are they thinking?

Time for Muslims to act and stop those who misinterpret Islam. Muslims know who these Clerics are, as Mosques where they preach are pretty easy to spot in any town or city.

Bottom line, if you know where they are stop them!

If a group in Canada were doing this to people like in Somalia, you can bet your life, Canada would stop it in it's tracks and hunt the offenders down Pronto!.

Again, I direct you to the recent introduction of Sharia Law being integrated in British Courts. Eventually it is only a matter of time, perhaps in a decade or so before a British Male Judge misinterprets in favour of man and thus begins the downward slant into oblivion of women's rights, gay rights, etc.

Will someone stand up and stop it? I fear by then it will be too late! Cause it ain't stopping in other countries it seems.

But then religious leaders of all faiths it seems, have fond memories when "Religion was King versus centuries ago when King was Religion"! and today it seems a reversal of fortune for some religious leaders of Islam.

Amnesty: Rape girl, 13, killed for adultery

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) -- A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.

Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct. 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses.

The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.

Initial local media reports said Duhulow was 23, but her father told Amnesty International she was 13. Some of the Somali journalists who first reported the killing later told Amnesty International that they had reported she was 23 based upon her physical appearance.

Calls to Somali government officials and the local administration in Kismayo rang unanswered Saturday. "This child suffered a horrendous death at the behest of the armed opposition groups who currently control Kismayo," David Copeman, Amnesty International's Somalia campaigner, said in a statement Friday.

Vancouver Tenant seeks injunction to stop neighbour smoking: The Plight of BC's Ongoing Shoddy Building Practices!

A recent story this week whereby a tenant in an apartment complex complained of health problems from cigarette smoke coming from an adjoining suite by another tenant.

The affected tenant complains cigarette smoke was coming from electrical outlets, under the shared wall between the two suites etc.

If in fact this is found to be true, then someone has some "splain'in to do Lucy!", I would be ripping a new arse hole out of the city building inspectors for compensation to fix my suite. The I would be filing a lawsuit against the architect, developer to fix my suite in an all too common practice of screw the homeowner for the almighty buck. 

Directing a lawsuit to a adjoining tenant is misplaced, as well designed suite, should never cross contaminate an adjoining suite with any odour. Including under the door of a shared hallway!

Brings to mind my previous stories on Now Public when I stated "Strongly" the shoddy Building practices in this province with Municipal Building Inspectors looking the other way obviously.

Vancouver has one of the highest prices in the country for living space, where a 500 square foot apartment in Vancouver can set you back close to a half million dollars.

Certainly at that price you would think you would get a well built suite, but don't and most likely never will. 

Next time you are driving around a neighborhood, take a good hard look at the tradesmen!  You will notice most of them with Chainsaws! Chainsaws used to build homes, sometimes in a scant three or four weeks.  Wow, how accurate is that?

Then, do you notice all that lumber stacked outside the home? Is that lumber raised off the ground and covered to keep from getting wet? Of course Not, paying 15 dollars for a common tarp to keep that lumber from getting wet and going right into your home would be common sense.

No wonder the friggin homes leak like a Sieve or are full of mold!

Chainsaws are for cutting trees, wet lumber inside your walls, is not what one would think of when Developers state We build quality 1 million dollar 800 -1,100 square foot Homes at breakneck speed.

Like I always say, you get what you pay for!

For the last 40 years US/Canadian Building Codes state "Adjoining Suites with shared walls "MUST" have a "90 minute" Fire Barrier between shared wall, no ifs, ands, or buts!

A fire barrier is a wall sealed from the floor to ceiling as well as shared piping and electrical outlets.

If this guy can smell cigarette smoke in his suite, that is the least of his worries, cause obviously the building is substandard and the Municipal Building Inspectors we pay taxes for are either incompetent, or crooked in bed with developers. You decide! 

In a Mindless BC Culture, where else but in British Columbia, can a Developer Slap up a Building at Light Speed with throngs of eager Buyers lining around the Block? 

During the Boom Times in the 80's and early 90's Money was flush in this province and anyone with a hammer and a chainsaw  was out here building homes for buyers, many of these trades, developers had no knowledge or didn't bother to learn about West Coast Wet Climates, or Seismic building codes in case of Earthquakes! 

Ever notice a lot of homes in this province all look the same, same design, same construction, almost looking cookie cutter?

It is said among Construction trade circles in British Columbia that is because they are all from the same blueprint, some architect drew up.  Blueprints drawn by architects are single use only and are not to be used to build another home,  Architects normally charge upwards of 20 thousand dollars to design a home.

  Builders on the other hand see fit not to pay 10-20 thousand dollars for  a blueprint for every home they build.  Hence who some call these homes  "Pink Palaces", why because most likely the homes were designed by some poor shmuck of an Architect in Asia, who is not getting paid royalties on his designs and construction companies and builders who know that lawsuits for using one time blueprints over and over again is against the law in most countries.

But since this architect is back in Asia, good luck trying to launch a copyright lawsuit in British Columbia against Builders using his designs.

Just because a Pink Palace works nicely in Asia, doesn't mean it will work in British Columbia, especially with our wet weather.  And a Province will have a hard time launching a lawsuit against a Architect in Asia anyways, especially of that Architect had no knowledge his designs are being copied in British Columbia!

With many buildings with claims of building envelope problems, water ingress, mold and falling balconies the Provincial government sits on their Moist asses for the last 25 years and does nothing, but whine to the Federal Government for Financial Relief from Canadian Taxpayers, tired of paying for Provincial Incompetence at all levels.

Why one would think the Province would go after the Developers? What a silly concept when your best pals have skipped town or the country!  Now who is being silly?

Many do not realise, that before the Provincial Home Warranty Act, there were and some say still are many developers, especially small construction firms in order to get out of warranty issues with newly constructed buildings, form a numbered company, and once the building is completed and sold, immediately fold their company, and start a new company under a new Corporate Number.

Nice Scam eh?  Guess what, you have no warranty! You are SOL, unless your home is recent and covered under the Governments Homeownership Protection Act. Even then Good luck!

Many Condo's up for sale in this province are Stratas, whereby everyone pays a couple of hundred dollars a month for common services, grass cutting, cleaning and building repairs.

Because of shoddy building construction, many are faced with a bill of a few thousand dollars, say for roof repair, with many going to the bank to take out a loan, or as many condo owners do, is sell their condo to an unsuspecting buyer, who when taking possession, gets an immediate bill, some amounting to 40 thousand dollars to pay for the building repairs, they knew nothing about from the previous owner, for obvious reasons. 

Would I buy a Condo in this city? Certainly not a Condo over 5 years old I wouldn't, and make damn sure I sell it before the warranty is over. Gee, this is just like used cars with over 100, 000 miles on the odometer.

Condo's, "a Money Pit that never stops taking in most cases in this province."

And all under the Blind eyes of Municipalities and Provincial Government Watchdogs, or I should say Guide Dogs.   

Anyone who thinks your government at any level is looking out for your interests, certainly needs a well place Slap Upside the Head!

Bottom line; "If cigarette smoke can get through, so can Fire, in my opinion the Building is a Fire Trap waiting to happen!"

I hope this Op/Ed piece has informed and educated many when knowing what to look for in buying a home, best advice, buy a home from the 1930's to the 1970s or earlier, cause those homes were built n an age  when tradesmen took Pride in their Craftsmenship!

Tenant seeks injunction to stop neighbour smoking Retired actor with bronchial woes says smoke seeps into suite

A retired Vancouver actor wants a court injunction to prevent his next- door neighbour from smoking in their West End apartment building.

In a statement of claim filed in B.C. Supreme Court, Mina Erian Mina, 74, says that since October 2006 his neighbour, Christine Jestadt, has "created a nuisance" with her smoking.

Mina says the smoke has come through electrical wall sockets, windows and other access points in his suite in the Performing Arts Lodge (PAL) building on Cardero Street.

He claims he's suffered various health problems, including respiratory injuries, bronchospasm, reduced chest expansion, chest tightness, aggravation of coronary artery disease, loss of sleep, fatigue and anxiety.

Is the Economy that Scary? Halloween sales are Up!

FAYETTEVILLE - Buying a Halloween costume can get expensive. The average cost of an adult costume is around $40, and kid's costumes aren't much cheaper.

In such a scary economy, you wouldn't expect people to be spending that kind of money, especially for one night. But Dave Mendelsohn, the owner of Spirit Halloween in Fayetteville, says his sales are even higher than last year.

So what is it about Halloween that's making people spend?

"It's a night of escape, you know uh, even if things are going rough, it's just a night to have a little fun and put on a different mask and be someone else, so everybody likes that, I mean, you can always find money for that," said Mendelsohn.

Sarah Sullivan says her entire family is dressing up, and their front yard is filled with Halloween decor. She says it'll take a lot more than a weak economy to keep them from celebrating.

"Everybody loves Halloween. No matter you know if we have to go without for a little while, we're going to spend the money for Halloween," says Sullivan.

AP FACT CHECK: Obama “Infomercial” Avoids Budget Realities

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office. Obama’s assertion that “I’ve offered spending cuts above and beyond” the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by “eliminating programs that don’t work” masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are — beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. . A sampling of what voters heard in the ad, and what he didn’t tell them:

THE SPIN: “That’s why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year.”

THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it’s not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums.

THE SPIN: “I also believe every American has a right to affordable health care.”

THE FACTS: That belief should not be confused with a guarantee of health coverage for all. He makes no such promise. Obama hinted as much in the ad when he said about the problem of the uninsured: “I want to start doing something about it.” He would mandate coverage for children but not adults. His program is aimed at making insurance more affordable by offering the choice of government-subsidized coverage similar to that in a plan for federal employees and other steps, including requiring larger employers to share costs of insuring workers.

THE SPIN: “I’ve offered spending cuts above and beyond their cost.”

THE FACTS: Independent analysts say Obama would deepen the deficit. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Obama’s policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years — and that analysis accepts the savings he claims will come from some unspecified “spending cuts“. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, whose other findings have been quoted approvingly by the Obama campaign, says: “Both John McCain and Barack Obama have proposed tax plans that would substantially increase the national debt over the next 10 years.” The analysis goes on to say: “Neither candidate’s plan would significantly increase economic growth unless offset by spending cuts or tax increases that the campaigns have not specified.”

THE SPIN: “Here’s what I’ll do. Cut taxes for every working family making less than $200,000 a year. Give businesses a tax credit for every new employee that they hire right here in the U.S. over the next two years and eliminate tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. Help homeowners who are making a good faith effort to pay their mortgages, by freezing foreclosures for 90 days. And just like after 9-11, we’ll provide low-cost loans to help small businesses pay their workers and keep their doors open. “

THE FACTS: His proposals — the tax cuts, the low-cost loans, the $15 billion a year he promises for alternative energy, and more — cost money, and the country could be facing a record $1 trillion deficit next year. Indeed, Obama recently acknowledged — although not in his commercial – that: “The next president will have to scale back his agenda and some of his proposals.”

Gallup Daily: Obama Lead Among Likely Voters 5 to 7 Points

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama holds a statistically significant lead over John McCain in both Gallup likely voter models, according to Oct. 27-29 Gallup Poll Daily tracking. In the traditional model, which defines likely voters based on current voting intention and past voting behavior, Obama holds a 50% to 45% lead. In the expanded model, in which only current voting intentions are considered, his lead is 51% to 44%.

As in any election, the final outcome, in large part, hinges on who turns out to vote and who does not. If all registered voters participated, Obama would probably win comfortably. He leads McCain by 50% to 42% in the latest estimate of registered voter preferences, and has averaged a nine percentage point lead since Oct. 1. No Cash of Titans: Kicking Potential Canadian Politicians in the Money Bags

Corporations and Wealthy Individuals fronting Politicians to the tune of millions of dollars during election periods are always seen to be looking to Curry Favour with Politicians through Fundraising, Single Donations to a political party in the Millions of Dollars will stop once Parliament Resumes.

That puts failed Liberal Leader Stephane Dion in the Red, Liberal Red Big Time.

It is said he borrowed up to $500,000.00 in the last failed Election Bid for Prime Minister. Now it is time to pay it back.

Once Parliament resumes, there will be no more borrowing, as ethically any potential Politician if elected would be beholden to their Creditor, resulting in questions if the Politician really has Canadians interests at heart or his Financier.

With the Liberal Leadership now in question, potential Liberal Leaders may be far and few between if they are limited to a paltry individual donation of a one time $1,000 per person, corporation or wealthy organization including Unions. 

That means Politicians will be forced to mingle with the little folk across the country and attend numerous pancake breakfasts, baby kissing, community events etc.  What does that all mean?

It means Politicians will have to give more face time with the voters, including the ones who have complaints o plenty.  Gone will be the unseen faces of voter content, because someone saved the Politician the embarrassment of knocking on every door, if they  loan or give them $500,000 dollars for their campaign.

Guess it is time for Voters to put their money where their mouth is when the next election comes a calling and politicians are knocking on your door for a few bucks to keep them solvent.

Debt, donation rules make life tough for wannabe Liberal leaders

When the newly re-elected Conservative government recalls Parliament sometime late next month, one of the first orders of business will probably be to kick the leaderless Liberals where it hurts -- squarely in the bank account.

A senior government official says Stephen Harper's administration will move quickly to bar political candidates and parties from accepting loans as a way to dodge electoral financing laws.

The move could leave the already cash-strapped Liberals trying to run their coming leadership race on pennies, hot air and used buttons. Too bad, so sad.

The loophole makes a mockery of everything political financing reforms were supposed to achieve. Current federal law bans political donations from corporations and unions, and limits individual contributions to $1,100 a year.

Instead, the last Liberal leadership contest that crowned Stephane Dion was fuelled by millions of dollars in IOUs, many of them five-figure loans to individual candidates from banks, private corporations and wealthy individuals.

Quebec demands immigrants sign-off on 'shared values'

Starting next January, all immigrants coming to Quebec will have to sign a declaration saying they will respect Quebec's common values.

Many feel this is a Ballsy move by Premier Charest and the Liberal Party of Quebec, versus any other Political party across Canada.

This Ballsy move is riding the wave of sentiment of Quebecers who align themselves with the Town of Herouxville, whose Councillor and it's citizens started it all when they made the first Ballsy move to push a similar bill forward.

Herouxville once they implemented this Herouxville Town Charter, was derided by many in Canada, but the majority of responses around the world were positive.

Premier Jean Charest and the world chastised the town of Herouxville as bigotted, when clearly all Herouxville want is to maintain their 400 year old Quebec Culture like anyone else and do not wish it to change.

Now with a Provincial Election is soon, Premier Jean Charest needs to save his political Bacon and his party, and has listened to the majority of Quebecers who want a similar bill that Herouxville and Town Councillor Andre Drouin implemented for their Town of Herouxville.

Many have the misconception that Immigration is a Right, when clearly it is a Privilege.

Perhaps a move towards letting those know who wish to come and live in this great county called Canada that when in Rome.....................

Many of the measures announced today were suggested by the Bouchard-Taylor commission on reasonable accommodation.

Disagree or not, the People of Quebec have laid it out what they expect of those who wish to make Quebec, Canada their home.

MONTREAL -- Future immigrants to Quebec will be required to sign a declaration promising to learn French and respect Quebec's "shared values," the government announced on Wednesday.

In a document with echoes of the controversial code adopted last year by the rural town of Hérouxville, immigrants will be informed that Quebec is a democracy where men and women are equal and violence is prohibited.

"Quebecers have said yes to immigration, but they said yes to immigration on the condition that these immigrants integrate into our society," Immigration Minister Yolande James said as she announced the policy, which takes effect in January.

She added that immigrating to Quebec "is a privilege not a right." With Liberal Premier Jean Charest expected to call an election next week, critics denounced the initiative as an attempt to undermine the opposition Action Démocratique du Québec and Parti Québécois, which have both made defence of "the Quebec identity" a battle cry.

Quebec: Women can perform whatever trade or profession they choose. They are present in such decision-making positions as members of the legislature, mayors, municipal councillors administrators and managers of large companies.

Quebec: Freedoms and fundamental rights are exercised respecting the rights and freedoms of others, public order, the general welfare of citizens and Quebec's democratic values. The use of violence is prohibited.

Quebec: The expression of hateful behaviour, whether it is of a political religious or ethnic nature, is not tolerated. Quebec society favours resolving conflicts through negotiation.

Quebec: Whether they are joined in common-law, civil or formal marriage, spouses - of the same sex or different sexes - remain equal before the law. The responsibilities of parents toward their children are the same.

Quebec: The Quebec state and its institutions are secular. Their decisions and their actions are independent of religious powers. ... Denominational religious teaching is not part of the public school program.

With the upcoming Provincial Elections in 2009 , The NDP leader Carole James promise of an Economic windfall spending of 2.5 Billion dollars for the British Columbians leaves many to wonder what she has been smoking?

Does Miss. Spendy for your Votes not realise in these tough economic times all over the world, one does not spend and promise to throw out 2.5 Billion Dollars of taxpayers money to bail out your Provincial infrastructure to boost your budgetary bank balance and keep government civil servants in the gravy and employed?

Cause dollars to donuts, ya think we are in an economic crisis now, just wait till we are really, really in the hole with 2.5 Billion dollar tax bill knocking at our future paycheques. 

Perhaps Carole feels we all forgot when they were in power a few years back, with them there 1 billion dollar Pacific FastCat Ferries they built, only to find out they were not suitable to our waters and sold them to an American firm for a paltry $20 million dollars.  Yep, that made economic sense!

As for the little old lady's remark of Too Late, I think it is appropriate!

VICTORIA, B.C. - B.C. New Democrat Leader Carole James says voters are worn out, making it difficult to campaign for Wednesday's two provincial byelections.

James said she's encountered voter fatigue in dramatic fashion while door-knocking in the vacant Vancouver-Burrard and Vancouver-Fairview ridings.

One elderly Vancouver woman welcomed her into her home but politely told her she was too late for the Oct. 14 federal election, James said.

"There's voter fatigue, there's no question about that," she said. James said the elderly woman told her: "Oh, it's wonderful to see you dear, I'm really glad you're here, but you're a little late." She said the woman had no idea the B.C. New Democrat leader was campaigning for two provincial byelections.

It did not elaborate. The Dalai Lama and his government should "treasure this opportunity and make a positive response to the requirements set forth by the central authorities," the official said.

Soldiers, UN peacekeepers retreat as rebel forces advance in Congo

KILIMANYOKA, Congo - Bombs, rockets and mortar shells exploded in volatile eastern Congo on Wednesday, and the Congolese army claimed it was attacked by troops from neighboring Rwanda.

The bombardments, heard by journalists at an army camp, appeared to be taking place less than five miles (eight kilometers) from a village where thousands of refugees have sought protection from rebels who have advanced through the area toward Goma, a city of 600,00 people 20 kilometers (13 miles) to the south.

Jeeps carrying officers sped along the road early Wednesday, stopping to give instructions to soldiers carrying rocket launchers and assault rifles.

Neighboring Rwanda's Tutsi-led government denies Congo's accusation that it has sent troops across the nearby border to help the fighters of renegade Gen. Laurent Nkunda, who says he is fighting to protect the region's tiny Tutsi minority.

Nkunda has threatened to take Goma, the provincial capital, despite calls from the U.N. Security Council for him to respect a cease-fire brokered by the U.N. in January.

The United Nations has 17,000 peacekeepers in Congo - the agency's biggest mission in the world - trying to halt the rebellion and protect the local population.

Canada Youth Offender Act Needs to Give out Serious Time for Serious Crime.

A big Federal Election issue, which may have played a small part in the Conservative Minority Government for Prime Minister Stephen Harper was increasing jail terms for young offender, including dropping the age requirements and publicizing the offenders names.

Certainly the Toronto parents of this child stabbed to death over a pair of $1.00 gloves would agree with the Prime Minister, when many of us witness rampant crime feel enough is enough!

The only deterrent is Jail, and More Jail, cause clearly Group Hugs to Criminals in the way of behavior modification isn't working.

A youth even at 14 years old know right from wrong, including taking one life for a pair of $1.00 gloves.

The media, video games, movies and rap music portraying "Gangsta lifestyle" as Cool , gives many youth the false impression their mortality is forever.

T.O. teen knifed for $1 gloves

A fight over a cheap pair of gloves nearly cost a 15-year-old boy his life Tuesday.

The Grade 9 student was brazenly stabbed in the stomach in front of at least 50 students in a busy hallway at Don Mills Collegiate Institute, witnesses said.

According to friends who were close by, the stunned victim didn't say a word as a pool of blood began to seep through his white shirt. He pulled the shirt up to reveal a hole in his stomach and muscle matter hanging from the wound.

"He was stunned," a 13-year-old friend said. "He stood there -- there was a hole in his shirt.

He lifted up his shirt and you could see like, his muscle hanging out of his stomach.

Then he turned around and started walking. It didn't sound like he was hurt at all. Then he was like, 'call the ambulance.' "

Many wonder how his views on Islam were warped by those who motives were killing anyone and every non believer.

One cannot understand how his parents are coping at the loss of freedom of their son, who at one time was a typical fun loving teenager in Canada. Certainly not the ideals and values their parents brought with them when they came to Canada in the late 1960s.

Verdict in landmark trial Judge to expected to rule in Canada's first terrorism court case today, setting legal precedent

After a four-year legal odyssey, a judge will deliver his verdict today in the terrorism case of Mohammad Momin Khawaja.

At 10 a.m. this morning, Ontario Superior Court Justice Douglas Rutherford will rule on the seven charges the 29-year-old Orleans man faces under Canada's Anti-Terrorism Act provisions of the Criminal Code.

The former computer programmer and self-avowed Islamic extremist is charged with facilitating, financing and participating in a U.K. terror group that plotted to explode fertilizer bombs in 2004 at several U.K. locations, including a nightclub and a shopping complex.

Federal Crown prosecutors say Khawaja designed and built a remote-controlled detonator -- which he dubbed the Hi-Fi Digimonster -- for the terrorist cell.

FACES LIFE IN PRISON

Convictions on three of the seven charges carry life sentences. Guilty verdicts on three other charges carry 10-year prison sentences.

Another charge carries a 14-year prison term.

In today's decision, Rutherford will rule on the Crown's claim that the charges go beyond the bomb plot -- which aimed to use 600 kg of ammonium nitrate to blow up major gas and electric facilities in England and Wales -- and include Khawaja's desire to wage "violent jihad" in Afghanistan.

North Korea Threatens South Korea, We will turn you into "Debris"

The Great Leader, Kim Jong Il, leading the country from his hospital room,  has made hostile comments on the eve of almost every U.S. Election in recent years, has stated that if South Korea does not stop its confrontational activity's on the border that it will turn the country into "debris".  This is not unexpected as stated before, North Korea seems to interject itself into the U.S. Election every 4 years to gain some leverage into the next administration.

SEOUL, South Korea - A North Korean soldier has defected to South Korea through the heavily fortified border dividing the two countries, an official from the South's spy agency said today, in only the second such defection in a decade.

Meanwhile, North Korea warned it would turn South Korea into "debris" and break off all relations if Seoul does not halt "confrontational" activities against the communist country.

If Palin was Black would a 'Hanging Palin' for Halloween be called free speech?

It has been reported by the AFP and other news outlets that a resident in California is displaying a Governor Sarah Palin hanging by a Noose in from of their home.  Folks in the area, especially those supporting Democratic candidate Barack Obama, say the display is protected free speech. 

I have seen displays like this at other times in my life of a Black man being hung from a tree.  The outrage was clear, Free speech goes only so far and calls that a hanging black man, even during Halloween, is beyond what the founders meant by free speech.  Any figure that has a hanging person, is saying that the figure should be dead. 

For Black Americans, especially in the south, certinally have an issue with hanging as it was one of the preferred methods to incite terror among southern blacks during the racist south noosing of African-American's.  Even though they have a history that brings back memories of a racist environment, isn't in inappropriate for anyone to display a known person hanging? 

Free speech has it's limits, Shouting fire in a crowded movie theator is not protected. (See Schenck v. United States)  Nor is  some student speech (see Bong hits for Jesus)  Limits to speech have also been put into law as in campaign finace resorm and University Students finance of elections (See Flint vs. UMT)  While there is no case about this specfic situation, there has been public outrage in other noose related events. 

Is hanging a noosed Sarah Palin Protected?  What if it were Obama?

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — A Halloween display showing a figure resembling Republican vice presidential pick Sarah Palin hanging by a noose has caused uproar in the Californian city of West Hollywood, leading to condemnation Monday from the local mayor.

Chad Michael Morrisette has the effigy, wearing Palin's trademark red jacket, glasses, high heels and a wig, hanging from the roof of his house in the city to the west of Los Angeles.

"It should be seen as art and it should be seen within the month of October. It is Halloween. It's time to be scary. It's time to be spooky," he told local television channel KCAL9.

Mayor Jeffrey Prang issued a statement condemning the display, in which a disfigured model of presidential candidate John McCain can also be seen surrounded by flames.

"While these residents have the legal right to the display of Senator McCain and Governor Palin, I strong oppose political speech that references violence -- real or perceived," he said.

"I urge these residents to take down their display and find more constructive ways to express their opinion," he continued.

West Hollywood is one of the main gay areas of the United States. About 500,000 people are expected there Friday for one of the biggest Halloween carnivals in the country.

Halloween is rooted in pagan Celtic and Christian feasts and sees Americans decorate their homes with ghoulish displays of ghosts, witches and other monsters.

Islam is a Man's World Get Used To It !: Somali Woman Stoned to Death for Adultery

The recent story by a Islamic cleric on how to Beat your Wife incensed me to no end, as well as todays story in which a group of Somalian Islamic Whackjobs took it upon themselves to place a terrified 23 year old woman on trumped up charges neck deep in the sand and play "Boccie Ball" with her head until it turned into a bloody pulp leaving her dead, as well as an innocent child who was machine gunned down in a blaze of Islam by a Islamic Militant who felt 5 year olds were threatening.

Notice the groups of people sitting around doing nothing to prevent this, my point exactly, when those who will not lay down their lives for change, deserve what they get.

Of course these Countries have no problem whatsoever requesting our Country to Lay Down our Lives to help them now do they?  Or when they plead for Western countries to give them billions in Welfare Aid, with the bulk of it going to the Regime to slaughter their own women and children!  Certainly the adage "Teach a Man to Fish is lost on these Cultures"!  

Saudi's on the other hand, just lop off your head, quick and painless for charges which in Western Society would not get a second glance, such as being Gay or having a wild haircut, bikini or holding hands in public.  Wow, how's that for Embracing the Rich Multicultural Rainbow of Diversity?

We are so deep in this Cultural Diversity Crap, we need to get out of it, because we cannot pick and choose which Multi-Culture to integrate into our Western Society, that would be discrimination!

So best we choose one Culture! Ours!  Our Country, our Laws, Our Culture!  You can still maintain your Culture, this is not what this story is all about, just don't try and place your culture above ours, after all if we chose to live in your country, we certainly would never chose to replace or change your culture to suit ours.

I truly believe anyone who wishes to live among us is more than Welcome, Just know what your getting into when coming here!

It is beyond belief we as a western nation even do business let alone give monetary aid to these countries who historically never help themselves or even wish to change their brutal regimes, including trying to kill us here and abroad, leaves me to believe that perhaps their time on earth should be limited and let their own god sort out this god forsaken mess they have brought upon themselves. 

Helping these countries is so well beyond comprehension that at times I am speechless, when their brutality flies in the face of our moral code and decency. Yet for the almighty buck our Politicians Kowtow and look the other way.

Our Politicians now in order to get elected, suck up for the cultural vote, regardless if they believe in the cultural ideology or not, that should tell you something, there is no whore like an old whore to borrow a phrase from Brian Mulroney. Yet we vote them into office anyway. Now how f**ked up is that?

Many state in Western Circles we should leave it alone, stop being critical of other cultures, embrace others cultures regardless if they are oppressive or against Gays, Women, or any other list of Donny Do's and Debbie Don'ts.

Many in the Politically Correct Crowd state certain cultures are misunderstood, and are an exception to the rule when brought into Western Civilization.  Many say "Assimilation into Western Society is Bad", everyone should embrace another's culture's rich individuality, cause just plain is not acceptable in our politically correct society, when many lefty's state the rainbow of cultural ideology of multicultural goodness is more pleasing to the palette.

Many in the "Left Wing" state to deride another cultural ideology is racist and immoral, no matter what their good book says to the contrary.

Of course many religious ideologies brought into Western countries we are told are benevolent and righteous, with some cultural groups who wish their ideology to be brought into our Laws, as some cultures feel our current laws which were established over a century or more are just not suitable to another cultures moral code of ethics.

Does this not fly into the face of logic?  Especially when it seems that these cultures fled their own countries in terror with only the clothes on their backs, seem to long for the good old terror days from the old country after settling in their new Western Country which opened it's arm and embraced them into the Western fold.

Britain for example has embraced Sharia Law, which, when understood states equality for women as well. If that is the case why have Shari Law replace British Law?  British Law also stated Equality for Women as well!  Sharia Law if understood word for word does state equality of the sexes, it is just some Whackjob Cleric's misinterpretation that disallows womens rights.

History has shown though that in many cases Shari Law is rarely followed when it comes to women's rights. Because after all it is a Man's world in some Cultures, when women like so many Cattle are treated more so as Breeding stock for Men, in order to have lots of sons.

One Cultures Communist Manifesto's one child policy was proof of that, as is the case of many cultures who either abort the female species, honour killings, take another wife, or dispose of that wife for another in favour of a wife who will bear them a son.

England's Henry VIII going through women, like some go through snot rags was proof of that, but then medical science was just not attuned to let men know that it is once again the MAN's Genes who determines the Sex of the child, never the woman.

Science today is discounted by many religions, including ours, even with proof positive, religions or should I say Ideology, because let's face having an imaginary friend to worship is just that Idol worship, much like Elvis.

Bottom Line is this!  You are now living in a Western Culture, we did not force you to come here, you chose to, it is not like you did not know what our Western Culture was all about, unless you were living in a cave or rock!   You should know all about us by now if you within the first day living in our country haven't figured it out.

I mean, I am sure you have witnessed your countrymen burning enough of our countries flags and political figures in Effigy to figure it out.

Our country is a series of laws and morals with a Constitution we implemented in stating everyone is equal, there is no misinterpretation or quaint cultural misunderstanding about it. 

Granted our laws are not perfect, but then our Country has not been in a Civil War with itself for at least 120 years. 

So though our laws are not perfect, they are our Laws drafted by us the people where all are equal, including you!

So one thing you really, really, really have to get through your thick head is this, Women are as smart, capable and valued as much as any Man, Women make great Teachers, Engineers, Plumbers, Policewomen, Doctors, Lawyers and Combat Soldiers, as well as valued mothers, daughters, wives and girlfriends.

To think otherwise means you are just not with the cultural human rights program, and perhaps this Western country of ours that we hold dear, is just not for you, so best leave immediately whence you came, cause changing our laws to suit your 1,500 year old cultural dark age ideologies ain't gonna fly, so get used to it.

We fought and died for our rights and for this country, you on the other hand, if just arriving to our great country, just happened to be lucky enough to ride our coat tails to Democracy. One thing you should know, our citizens of this great country, do not have military or tanks on every corner blowing us out of existence or roving bands of religious nutjobs dispensing public beheadings or hangings, so you see we would have a problem with that and never stand for such atrocities.  We also have Free Elections! How is that for a Concept?

Oh yeah one more thing, we have Gay people in this country, a called North America, you know about them I am sure, as you have hung and executed enough of them in your country. YAY GOD!

A 23-year-old woman was stoned to death by Somali Islamists in Kismayu. A child was also shot and killed when gunmen opened fire as a relative of the accused woman ran forward towards the execution.

Somali Islamists have stoned to death a woman accused of adultery in the first such public killing by the militants for about two years.

The 23-year-old woman was executed late on Monday in front of hundreds of people in the southern port of Kismayu, which the Islamist insurgents captured in August, witnesses said.

Guards opened fire when a relative ran forward, killing a child, they said. "A woman in green veil and black mask was brought in a car as we waited to watch the merciless act of stoning," one local resident, Abdullahi Aden, told Reuters.

"We were told she submitted herself to be punished, yet we could see her screaming as she was forcefully bound, legs and hands.

A relative of hers ran towards her, but the Islamists opened fire and killed a child."

The Islamists last carried out public executions when they ruled Mogadishu and most of south Somalia for half of 2006.

Allied Ethiopian and Somali government forces toppled them at the end of that year, but they have waged an Iraq-style guerrilla campaign since then, gradually taking territory back.

As when they ruled Mogadishu in 2006, the Islamists now controlling the Kismayu area are again providing much-needed security, but also imposing fundamentalist practices such as banning entertainment seen as anti-Islamic.

Military Ballots Being Rejected in Virginia

Fairfax County Registrar Rokey Suleman is disqualifying an overwhelming majority of the military federal write-in absentee ballots received in his county on the basis that no address had been given for those witnessing the voter signatures on the ballots. According to Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity and four former members of the military who held a press conference on Thursday, over 98 percent of these military absentee ballots in Fairfax County are being rejected.

“The federal write-in absentee ballot is a federally mandated ballot that allows military service members and their dependents to cast an absentee ballot when they haven’t received a [state] ballot before the election,” Herrity said. “For them it’s a safety net. It allows them to vote if the mail truck hasn’t reached his or her remote base in Iran or Afghanistan in time to cast a regular absentee ballot.”

When asked how many ballots had been rejected, Herrity responded, “Out of the 260 military federal write-in ballots received to date, only five included an address for the witness. The other 255 have been set aside for rejection.”

Below is a story presented to me by a Muslim friend of mine Tarek Fatah, who knows all too well, Whackjob Clerics who profess Islam as a kind benevolent ideology. Is adored by Wife Beaters everywhere, who says first give your wife a chance to obey, before slapping her around.

But we have all read in the media about honour killings, or impatience by some who just go Berzerk and to the quick, not wanting to bother to discuss options and just "kick the ever living shit" out or their wives, cause it is written somewhere it is okay to do.

Talk Show medium Saudi Cleric Muhammad Al-'Arifi sort of like a cross between "Dr.Phil and Oprah on Acid, with a smattering of The View and Maury Povich" gives what the Saudi Public want, and professes to know what Women Want! A good beatin.

If ever there was a Saudi Redneck, he is one fine example.

One should know, this above statement is an exception to the rule as there more Muslims who treat their wives and daughter with respect and abhor at the thought of violence towards them.

But if Western Society were allowed to showcase such a Ideology on National Television, one can be sure Protests and Human Rights lawsuits would be immediate and swift, but in the middle east, well, let's just say that is another animal. 

Of course, this is on the heels of British Law, which now allows Sharia Law in the British Judicial System, one can be sure British Women will sleep soundly in their beds if their spouse happens to be an avid watcher of Muhammad al-Arifi.

BEAT HER LIKE A LADY

From a television program aired last year in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during which cleric Muhammad al-’Arifi advised young men on how to discipline their wives.

Translated from the Arabic by the Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute. "Men beat women more often than women beat men.

Allah created women delicate, fragile, supple, and soft because they use their emotions more than they use their bodies.

While a man may use beating to discipline his wife, she sometimes uses her tears to discipline him. For men, women’s emotions may be fiercer than the strike of a sword.

"Before you beat a woman, first admonish her—once, twice, three times, four times, or ten.

If this doesn’t help, you must turn to the teaching “refuse to share their beds.” Thus, a husband distances himself from his wife in bed and in conversation.

If a husband comes to eat a meal and his wife asks him, “How are you? Do you want anything?” he must not answer.

The husband should not sleep with his wife. He should sleep in another room. "If this does not help, then the husband’s third option is to beat his wife lightly so it will not leave a mark.

He must not make her face ugly. Beating in the face is forbidden. Even if you want your camel or donkey to walk faster, you are not allowed to beat it in the face.

If this is true for animals, it is all the more true for humans. If a man is angry with his wife—if he says to her, “Watch out, the child has fallen next to the stove,” and she says, “I’m busy”—then the husband should beat his wife with a toothpick or something like it.

He should not beat her with a bottle of water, a plate, or a knife. Notice how gentle the toothpick used for beating is—this shows you that the purpose is not to inflict pain.

When you beat an animal, you intend to cause it pain so that it will obey you, because a camel would not understand if you said, “Camel, come on, start moving.” A donkey understands nothing but beatings, but to a wife, a light beating conveys, “Woman, you have gone too far.”

"A husband should not beat his wife like he would a child, slapping it right and left. Unfortunately, many husbands beat their wives only when they get angry, and when they start the beating, they use both hands and sometimes their feet, as if they are punching a wall.

Remember, brother, this is forbidden; your wife is a human being.

Since I took a bath on the Stock Market recently as most the world did when they count on the US economy as a benchmark in Economic stability.

I started to do some research into why it all went into the toilet. What I found out surprised even me. I wanted to know more behind the subprime crash and the downturn in the current stock market crash the world is experiencing today.

I wanted to know who was responsible in all this, cause let's face it, it is not like this was not an all of a sudden occurrence.

Many Americans in this election season will be comforted to know, Then President Bill Clinton, and Vice President Al Gore, both under the Democrats, were pushed and cajoled and got Greenspan, who was the United States Money Man, to hop onboard to sign off the GlassSteagall repeal (Resolution 10) authourizing Banks to get into the Speculative market, signing a Bill into Law to allow Banks and the Stock Market to be bestest pals.

Problem is, a similar scheme was tried in the early 1900s whereby people could buy stocks with little or no money down speculating on the world stock market.

This pyramid scheme resulted in a stock market crash around 1904 and the World Disaster Stock Crash of 1929 or Black Thursday.

An excerpt of the 1929 crash and the resulting investigation thoroughly analyzed why the economy was unsound in 1929.

America in the 1920s had corporate structures that encouraged frauds, imposters, grafters and swindlers.

It was a “flood tide of corporate larceny,” wrote Galbraith. The banking system was inherently weak — when one bank failed, the assets of other banks were immediately frozen, leading to investor panic and a domino effect of bank failures.

Lastly, the idea of using deficit spending to jump-start the economy had not yet been accepted. President Hoover’s advisors were urging him to balance the budget instead of spending more money to relieve a distressed economy or reducing taxes to alleviate the drop in wages.

Wow, doesn't this sound real familiar to what is happening today in 2008?

In the 1990s under then President Bill Clinton, when the investment industry pressured Bill Clinton to allow Investment houses to get their investors, who by an large as Investors were to say the least not very investment savy and bought buy securities of companies which the banks and the Investment houses were aligned with.

This way both the investment house and whoever the securities institution could collect huge commissions, all off the backs of the unsuspecting investor who put his trust and money into this unethical practice.

Guess Bill Clinton was not adverse to sticking it just to Monica with Cohibas, but to the American Public as well.

Speculators smelling an opportunity would buy default insurance on these investments made by others, in the hopes if investors defaulted the Speculators could collect BIG TIME.

Sort of like buying Life Insurance on your Elderly Neighbour, knowing he will most likely die soon. This resulted in a run or opportunity for both the stock exchange, Speculators, Banks, Investment Houses, who along with compounded by income tax evasion on Bonuses and Insurmountable Earnings by investment bankers.

The Horrific Ethics displayed by these Investment Houses and Banks to con their depositors and investors to use their Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink, affiliate security and investment advisors, has resulting in the quandary the World Financial Markets are currently in.

Perhaps something to think about come this election time, there is a reason why the Democvratic symbol is a "Jackass"!

Many blamed the Republicans and George Bush, when in fact it was the democrats who initiated it all along. Boy, isn't that a "Kick in the proverbial Nuts" or as Holier than Thou Al Gore would say in part an Economic "Inconvenient Truth" as History repeats itself all over again.

Guess one never learns from past mistakes, or do they $ ????

With the dollar in nose dive mode, Retailers most likely will see Bread and Butter Luxury items gathering dust on department store shelves, as Canadians "Grinch" themselves this holiday season with uncertainty whether to buy food or gifts.

Retailers hoping to stave off their own bankruptcy and maintain a semblence of solvency are hoping to match prices with their US retailer counterparts in getting "tight fisted shoppers" back into the shopping malls.

One wonders what a lean Santa will look like as kids ask for anything and everything, as harried parents look on and shake their heads at Santa, putting the ball in Santa's court to explain the Elfs may not be able to fulfil every kids Christmas wish.

Canadian retailers slash prices

TORONTO - Canadian retailers are getting a dose of yuletide fear this fall as many of them slash prices early with anticipation that this holiday shopping season could be one of the most painful in recent memory.

Economists and analysts have a dismal outlook for the fourth quarter as the latest sales numbers and data suggests confidence is plummeting at an alarming rate.

"From our discussions with retailers across the country, it is safe to predict that (the) fourth quarter of 2008 will be the worst in over two decades," said Perry Caicco, an analyst at CIBC World Markets in his outlook on the busiest shopping period of the year.

"For Canadian retailers and consumer companies, the everyday sales challenges are now enormous."

It only takes a walk around any of the country's major shopping malls to see store fronts plastered with signs proclaiming major markdowns on clothing items, electronics and household decor - some of them as much as 70 per cent off the regular retail price.

In a statement Sunday evening from publicist Lisa Kasteler, Jennifer Hudson appealed to the public for its help, offering the reward and asking that any information be given to Chicago police.

Help find Jessie Foster, Nevada Search

One of the members of NowPublic, JessiesMomGlendene is still searching for her missing daughter Jessie Foster.

She just received word yesterday that Frank Mahoney from the National Centre for Missing Loved Ones in Las Vegas is going back out into the Nevada desert to search for the body of Jessie Foster.

The missing posters are up in Las Vegas and the search is back on, but volunteers are needed and so if you are in the Las Vegas area and can help out, please get in touch and do so.

Jessie Foster has been missing since April 9, 2006, so it has been a long and trying time for her family and everyone involved in the case. She disappeared only a few months after leaving Kamloops BC to be with her boyfriend in Las Vegas. It is unknown what happened to her, but her family has never given up hope she will show up alive.

This is an ongoing news story, so I am putting the word out there again for help and assistance in this difficult time.

We have a request from the mother of a missing woman, Jessie Foster (North Las Vegas Police case 2006) to check an area in the desert for her remains.

That's Unpossible: Corrupt Politicians in British Columbia? How Ludicrous!

I find it hard to believe political candidates in this Province are corrupt, immoral, incompetent, there has to be a mistake!

I am sure our political leaders will get to the bottom of all this and correct this horrific myth, after all this is British Columbia, where even our Efficient Courts and highly respected Justice System who are quick to release criminals, because rapists, murderers and drug dealers, because Judges here find all criminals are either misunderstood or only commit crimes because they have low blood sugar.

Certainly all is well in British Columbia, where even the Homeless get homes and drive solid gold cadillacs, because let's face it, British Columbia as our Politicians state, is we are a model for the rest of the world to follow.

These are facts, we can all take to the bank, along with our Carbon Neutral Tax cheque!

I have to go now and take a hot shower, and wash my mouth out with bleach, I feel so dirty.

Dual candidate has checkered past

He wasn't allowed to work in insurance, mortgage industries

WHISTLER - A Surrey man who is simultaneously running for mayor of Whistler and for council in his hometown was at one time barred from working as an insurance agent for being untrustworthy.

An Insurance Council of B.C. decision from July 2002 says Jagmohan Bhandari "failed to act in a trustworthy and competent manner, in good faith and in accordance with the usual practice of the business of insurance."

The comments stem from an investigation of Bhandari by the council into activities he performed after switching employment from American Income Life Insurance to London Life Insurance.

The decision also states: "The Council determined that the nature of [Bhandari's] contact with the Clients indicated that his insurance recommendations were motivated by personal gain and not the best interests of each Client."

Insurance agents receive commissions for their work.

 You know the world economy is in trouble when the Saudi's , who have more money than God are feeling the pinch. There are many unanswered questions, how Saudi Arabia spendy Billion dollar Resort projects may be in jeopardy, especially since these resorts were for the well heeled westerners to visit, who now are in the same boat.

Heaven forbid, there may be a run on Kraft Dinner at the local Saudi Grocery store, with Vacations in Economy Class to the desert resorts, like Somalia, because that is most likely as cheap a vacation a Saudi can get.

Will Chevy Mini Van's replace Bentleys on Saudi Streets, if so perhaps GM can finally get out of it's financial woes and Charge the Saudi's 100,000 dollars for a Minivan, just tell em supply and demand by soccer Moms in North America, as Saudi belt tightening is to become the norm, maybe it is high time we put it to em, after all fair is fair.

Of course it is possible that this may just mean the average joe Saudi who abhors getting their hands dirty with manual labor, will have to let go all of their third world labourers who they have always hired to clean their toilets, groom their backyard and cook their meals. 

What is the world coming to when a Well Heeled Saudi now, may have to cut their own grass or make themselves their own sandwich or switch TV channels with a remote? A travesty, I tells ya!

Credit crunch even hits Saudi Arabia as $2.7 billion spent shoring economy

DUBAI (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia plans to extend 10 billion riyals ($2.7 billion) in credit to low-income citizens as Gulf Arab oil-producers step up efforts to contain the fallout from the global financial crisis.

Saudi King Abdullah ordered that the additional funds be deposited in the Saudi Credit Bank, which was established to extend interest-free loans to Saudi citizens with limited resources to help them overcome financial difficulties.

The move comes on the heels of an emergency meeting of Gulf finance ministers and central bankers held in Riyadh on Saturday which was aimed at better coordinating the response to a global downturn that threatens to brake their region's six-year economic boom.

In a government-funded advertising campaign launched this week, the provincial federation of hunters has set its sights on environmentally conscious city-dwellers who might normally shudder at the thought of pulling a trigger.

"Hike and grocery shop at the same time," reads one newspaper advertisement over the word "Hunting" and the address of a Web site address explaining why it is good to hunt.

Another appeals to Quebec's large population of natural-food lovers with a simple: "Eat organic."

The last in the series says, "Popular for the past 3 million years."

With 911 still on Americans minds, when November 4th sees a new administration, one wonders the fate of Canada's 1st Islamic Terrorist, currently incarcerated in Guantanamo's Prison for lobbing a grenade and murdering US Medic Sgt. Many still think of Omar Khadr as a Child soldier, regardless that now he is a 22 year old man. Some may feel this once Child Soldier Omar Khadr will be released by a new US President and be sent home to Canada.

If it should happen, whether a release or continued detainment of Omar, It will be interesting regardless who takes the mantle of President as there will be those against it, and those for it.

Will it ever be brought up with the new president, or will Omar sit in prison, as no newly elected President wants to commit political suicide by taking a stance either way?

Of course, one can use the excuse of shutting down the prison as an excuse to release Omar Khadr, though my money is on the US Administration letting the court of law to take it's own course and leaving the President out of it. If McCain's administration released Khadr, Veterans and families of 911 will be incensed, though it may curry favour with the Liberals.

If Obama's administration releases Khadr, it will be seen as a pro islamic President by Nutjob Right wingers and 911 victims families.

Khadr trial delayed again until January

The trial of Omar Khadr, the only Canadian imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay, has been delayed again -- until after a new U.S. administration takes over the White House in January.

The 22-year-old, who was 15 when he was captured in Afghanistan, will not be tried until Jan. 26, a U.S. military judge ruled Friday.

It's the second time the judge has delayed the trial, which was supposed to be held this month -- three years after Khadr was formally charged.

The delay means Khadr may not face trial in Guantanamo Bay at all, since both U.S. presidential candidates, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain, have both said they want to shut down the detention camps in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

OTTAWA -- The Supreme Court of Canada overturned a first-degree murder conviction Friday and ordered a new trial for a Hungarian drug dealer who was in Canada illegally when he was charged with shooting an associate whose severed head was found near Squamish, B.C.

By a 4-3 margin, the divided court ordered a new trial on the grounds that the judge botched her instructions to the jury and the Crown withheld information that could have affected the outcome of the case.

The ruling gives Mihaly Illes, who slipped back into Canada within months of his 2000 deportation, a fresh chance to clear his name in the 2001 killing of 28-year-old Javan Luke Dowling.

"Neither error can safely be characterized as harmless and either alone warrants a new trial," justices Louis LeBel and Morris Fish wrote for the majority.

"The trial judge's instruction ... was improper and the Crown violated its constitutional obligations of disclosure."

Illes, 40, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2004.

His victory yesterday is the latest twist in his lengthy clashes with the Canadian justice and immigration systems, which began soon after he came to Canada in 1992 as a refugee sponsored by the Calvin Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Edmonton.

In late 1999 International Heroin Drug Trafficker Diven Nair is arrested in Los Angeles for trying to smuggle Heroin, he pleads guilty in a US court and is sentenced to 9 years in a US Federal Prison, oh but wait for it, under the Liberal Government who were in power at the time, Mr. Heroin Trafficker is soon transferred to a Canadian prison (Thanks Liberal Government), Nair once in Canada gets an accelerated parole review on Sept. 7, 2001, and soon is walking our Canadian Streets a free man. Hmmmm lets see, is convicted and told to serve 9 years, whines to come to Canada to serve his 9 year jail sentence, the USA send him to Canada, and what seems like once he steps on Canadian soil, he is up for parole.

The Drug trafficker serves little jail time, so he can go right back into Criminal activities. And people in Canada wonder how our streets are unsafe?

One only has to look at the Justice System in this country to see why, when Lefty Liberal appointed Parole Board members are running the show.

Is it any wonder criminals when caught in the United States, immediately plea to our Canadian Government to serve their time in Canada?

Hell, what a joke, they serve little prison time in Canada when compared to the United States justice.

And what of deporting this individual to his native country?  Why keep him in Canada? Well, with our Multicultural, Diversity, etc....slobber, gobble, slurp and swallow, this is Liberal Far Left Wing British Columbia dinja know?

Richmond dealership run by convicted trafficker Daewoo Auto Sales manager Diven Karan Nair was sentenced to nine years in the U.S.

A Richmond car dealership that for years shared a close relationship with Coquitlam's Four Star Auto Leasing is run by a convicted international drug trafficker, The Vancouver Sun has learned.

Diven Karan (David) Nair is the general manager of the Daewoo Auto Sales dealership at 10740 Cambie Road. The business is owned by his wife Rajni Chand.

Nair was arrested in California in 1998 as part of an international heroin and cocaine trafficking scheme headed by Vancouver gangster Ranjit Singh Cheema, who pleaded guilty this year to conspiring to import.

Nair and two co-accused, who were caught near Los Angeles, pleaded guilty in 1999 and were sentenced to nine years.

Four Star president Erich Schmidt confirmed Friday that Daewoo was one of the brokers that referred problem clients to his Coquitlam company and that he has now cut off business with the Richmond car dealer.

Court documents obtained by The Sun show that Daewoo and Four Star had a dispute over the ownership of a Ford truck in 2006 and Four Star sued Daewoo over allegations of fraud involving the $40,000-plus vehicle.

Earlier this year, a B.C. Supreme Court judge threw out the case, saying there was not enough evidence before him to determine which party was in the wrong.

Nair's affidavits in the case lay out just how closely the two companies were interconnected. Nair lists his address at 1013 Park Drive, the Vancouver home he owns with Chand, who is the sole director of Daewoo, according to corporate records. "For many years, Daewoo has had a close business relationship with the plaintiff.

Most customers of Daewoo who wish to acquire a vehicle by way of a lease are referred to the plaintiff by Daewoo," Nair said.

He explained that Daewoo even kept Four Star lending applications at its dealership so customers who wanted to arrange a lease on a Daewoo vehicle could get their credit from Four Star.

A Four Star manager named David Mak would provide a lease quote over the phone, Nair said, which would be passed on to the customer.

If the customer agreed, Nair would fill out the paperwork and fax it over to Four Star, which would sign off and send it back. "This has been a long-standing practice, and David Mak had always authorized Daewoo to sign transfer documentation on behalf of the plaintiff," Nair said.

"In almost all cases, there would be no direct contact between (Four Star) and the customer acquiring the vehicle." He said sometimes the lease arrangement would be made for a vehicle that was owned by neither Daewoo nor Four Star.

The law of Proceeds of Crime, cannot adequately apply if you lease rather than purchase if a company owns the vehicle in the first place. Vancouver and the Lower Mainland has always been a hotbed to launder drug money, either through property, home or business startups, including mortgage brokers, where many legitimate businesses turn a blind eye in a nudge, nudge, wink, wink business.

Just wait till 2010 Olympics hit town and visitors from all over the world will come to British Columbia and see how easy it is to set up a Criminal enterprise, knowing the Justice system here in BC is a joke.

A nondescript car lot off the Barnet Highway in Coquitlam appears to have become a hot spot for Lower Mainland gangsters looking to lease high-end vehicles.

A Vancouver Sun investigation has found more than a dozen cars leased from Four Star Auto Lease Ltd. to leaders of the UN gang, to associates of the Red Scorpions and to an accused trafficker caught in a 2007 bust of Ontario Hells Angels.

As well, a young man murdered earlier this year outside a Surrey golf course had leased his 2002 Mercedes from Four Star, located at 2575 Barnet Highway.

Another Surrey man, who was charged with a murder outside a Victoria nightclub in July, had signed his deal on a luxury-car lease with the same Coquitlam firm.

Four Star recently filed a lawsuit against the mother and brother of a convicted hit man for failing to pay up on the 2002 Cadillac Escalade they rented, according to court documents obtained by The Sun.

Four Star president Erich Schmidt said he was aware of the situation, but felt his company had been victimized by brokers referring shady customers to his firm for financing agreements without his knowledge. "I became aware of it about a year ago," Schmidt said. "We were having the cars coming back and they were shot up, so we started to look into it.

I started to look at where the cars came from and they came from brokers." Schmidt declined to name the brokers.

He said he had talked to both police and the Insurance Corporation of B.C., hoping they would give him a heads-up on gangsters "because they are probably in their files already." "What ICBC said is, 'We can't do that, it is against the privacy law,'" Schmidt said Friday. "I said, 'You are putting us in danger by not telling us.'" He said he has cut off business with three or four brokers who seemed to have been referring criminals to his company, some of whose "papers were falsified, the work records were all falsified, the money they were making." "If the government would let us look a little bit deeper or if the police would warn us, there wouldn't be any problem," Schmidt said.

Unloading illicit cash Police and regulators say many gangsters are leasing cars as an easy way to unload some of their illicit cash on big-ticket luxury vehicles.

Vancouver Police Insp. Dean Robinson, who heads the Uniformed Gang Task Force, said his front-line officers are stopping gangsters in their expensive rides, often modified with bullet-proof Kevlar and secret gun compartments.

Obama Campaign Disabled Credit Verification (AVS) for Donors

How does a candidate raise 700 million dollars in a recession? 

What is the reason that the Obama campaign cannot verify information on donations below 200.00?  Could it be that the campaign has disabled the credit card address verification feature as well as the 3 number code found the the reverse of the card?  Both of these features are to prevent credit card fraud.  With in the last few days, reporters have entered credit card numbers under various peoples names.  The result?  The Obama campaign credit card system comes back with a statement that says, "Thank you for your support".

Under present election laws, all donations are to be carefully documented as to the originator of the donation.  Now the law does not require a candidate to post this information but it must keep a accurate records of every transaction,  so one cannot give more then the maximum for each election cycle.  Under Obama's present credit card donation system, there is no way of telling who is actually giving the donation as the Name, address, and security code are not verified.  Thus the possibly of election fraud.

One can simply maximize his/her donations then go to a name that has not given the maximum amount and enter their credit card number into the system. 

How does a candidate raise $650 million dollars and $150 million in one month?  New evidence is emerging that the Obama camp has deliberately disabled the address verification feature for all of their credit card transactions. Normally, when you go to Amazon.com or some place and try to purchase an item, Amazon will ask for your CC# and your address, then they run a check to verify that the card# you are using matches that card’s # of record. Ace of Spades reports that credit card companies typically do not let companies disable this feature, and it can only be done deliberately:

Having worked for companies that process credit cards online, it is necessary to go through and manually disable the safeguards that they put in place to verify a person’s address and zip code with the cardholder’s bank. But international banks don’t currently have the same safeguards that banks in the US have, which also works in the One’s favor.

So most likely they’ve disabled the necessary safeguards for US cards which their merchant bank would be angry about if they found out since it exposes them to risk, as well as international cards which is an even greater risk because there’s no way to verify the information electronically for most countries, so they could just say they’re in the US with phony info and the card will still process online. The One could then just claim that they said they were from America.

Senator Clinton’s website worked with a reputable company that had the same safeguards in place for her online donations, seems like someone just doesn’t like to play by the rules that credit card companies have put in place.

Is there a legitimate reason to disable the AVS system? Apparently not:

Visa/MC banks hate it when merchants blow off AVS, as it increases the risk of chargebacks (which are a hassle/expense for the bank to handle). Consequently they demand a much higher discount rate to take cards with AVS-overrides.

If a merchant’s chargeback rate goes above 1% the banks will wallop the merchant with research fees. Merchants with high chargeback rates (like porn sites) can end up paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra monthly fees in order to be able to continue to accept cards, on top of huge discounts on each transaction.

If you think this is exaggeration, I would invite you to try it yourself, but I wouldn’t want anyone donating money to this scam artist. However, here are several testimonials of people who have tried to donate:

Frankly, its easier than I’d believe to do this. Courtesy of my (real) CC number and expiration date, the Obama campaign has just received a $19.45 donation from mister Adolf Hitler, whose occupation is “Dictator” at the company “National Socialist Party of Ger” (I got cut off). I captured screenshots to prove this.

No verification required. The listed address wasn’t even close to my real address.

Good to know that Obama is taking donations from Adolf Hitler, he truly is a post-racial candidate! What is even more frightening, is that apparently the Obama web page AVS system is also designed to take credit cards issued in foreign countries.

Republican donated Max to Obama Campaign, They didn't know it until they got their statement!

Steve and Rachel Larman say a strange credit card charge appeared on their statement this month — a $2300 donation to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. The Larman’s say they don’t want this to be about their political affiliation, but they say they’re not about to give the Obama campaign any help from their pocketbook.

They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud.

“(They) said that they had seen-they were familiar with this,” said Steve Larman. “It was fraud, they believe through telemarketing but they were going to be doing some more investigations.”

The Larman’s don’t want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. But they say that the charge involves the Obama campaign adds insult to injury for the registered Republicans.

“They (Chase) kept on asking me ‘are you sure you wouldnt have gone to a site in support of Obama’,” said Rachel Larman. “And I repeatedly said ‘Im voting for McCain - I would not be going to an Obama site’.”

John Galt donating to Obama. RNC files new complaint with FEC, Foreign credit cards being accepted too!

I went to the Obama campaign website and entered the following:

Name: John Galt
Address: 1957 Ayn Rand Lane
City: Galts Gulch
State: CO
Zip: 99999

Then I checked the box next to $15 and entered my actual credit card number and expiration date (it didn’t ask for the 3-didgit code on the back of the card) and it took me to the next page and… “Your donation has been processed. Thank you for your generous gift.”

This simply should not, and could not, happen in any business or any campaign that is honestly trying to vet it’s donors. Also, I don’t see how this could possibly happen without the collusion of the credit card companies. They simply wouldn’t allow any business to process, potentially, hundreds of millions in credit card transactions where the name on the card doesn’t match the purchasers name.

In short, with the system set up as it is by the Obama camp, an individual could donate unlimited amounts of money by simply making up fake names and addresses. And Obama is doing his best to facilitate this fraud. This is truly scandalous.

Our reader was not yet done. He tried the experiment on the McCain site: "I tried the exact same thing at the McCain site and it didn't allow the transaction." He then repeated the experiment at the Obama site:

I went back to the Obama site and made three additional donations using the names Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and Bill Ayers, all with different addresses. All the transactions went through using the same credit card. I saved screenshots of the transactions.

To be fair to the Obama campaign, officials there have said much of their checking for fraud occurs after the transactions have already occurred. When they find something wrong, they then refund the amount.

But a New York Times analysis of campaign finance records looking for obvious anomalies in donor information quickly found more than a dozen contributors to Mr. Obama using obviously fictitious name. This was a tiny fraction of Mr. Obama’s donor pool, but it appeared from the analysis that Mr. McCain had far fewer apparent fake names among his donors.

Unlike Mr. Obama, Mr. McCain provides on his Web site a searchable database of all of his donors, including those who fall below the $200 threshold that the Federal Election Commission requires campaigns to itemize in their reports. The political blogger Marc Ambinder recently reported that searches of this database turned up seven contributions from someone named Jesus II of Las Vegas giving a total of $851 to Mr. McCain.

The Obama campaign pointed out that a search of the name “Anonymous, Anonymous” also turns up pages of contributions to the McCain campaign, including more than two dozen that exceed $200 but for some reason do not appear in F.E.C. records. It should be pointed out that campaigns are permitted to accept donations of up to $50 in cash or anonymously. There are other odd donors that appear in searches of the McCain database but fall below the $200 threshold, including “The Gun Shop” from Hood River, Oregon., who contributed $100 and “Adorable Manabat” from Winnetka, Calif., who gave $200.

DNC Files FEC Complaint Over McCain Campaign's Missing, Excessive and Anonymous Donors

Washington, DC - The Democratic National Committee today announced that it will file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission on Monday morning to request a thorough investigation of the McCain campaign's most recent attempt to skirt campaign finance laws.  According to the complaint, an analysis of the information provided by the McCain Campaign on its website shows that the campaign received 6,653 contributions that were at least $1,000 in excess of legal limit of $2,300--including one donor who contributed $56,047.  The McCain Campaign website also lists 23 anonymous contributions in excess of fifty dollars, despite the legal requirement to maintain the name and address of each contributor any amount in excess of $50, and dozens of additional donors who provided incomplete information. 

The complaint also cites the McCain campaign's pattern of ignoring federal election laws including violating the Presidential Matching Payment Account Act, the campaign's refund of approximately $50,000 in donations solicited by a foreign national, its continuing pattern of soliciting foreign nationals including the Russian Ambassador to the U.N and the FEC's September 30 request for additional information on numerous excessive contributions. 

"The McCain campaign's lack of disclosure and disregard for the law he helped write raises serious questions about John McCain's commitment to the openness and transparency the voters expect from their leaders," said DNC General Counsel Joe Sandler.  "In view of the McCain campaign's clear history of violating campaign finance laws, it is imperative that the Commission promptly conduct a thorough investigation of these violations; and a full audit of all of the McCain Campaign's contributions."

Court halts execution of Troy Davis Covicted cop killer

Troy Davis was convicted in 1989 for killing a Georgia Policeman.  The Appeals court has halted the execution since 7 of the 9 witness who testified against him have since recanted their testimony.

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued a 25-day stay of execution Friday for a Georgia death row inmate who had been scheduled to die on Monday.

Troy Davis was convicted in 1991 of the murder of Savannah police Officer Mark MacPhail three years earlier, but has always maintained his innocence.

Witnesses claimed Davis, then 19, and two others were harassing a homeless man in a Burger King parking lot when the off-duty officer arrived to help the man.

Witnesses testified at trial that Davis then shot MacPhail twice and fled.

Since Davis' 1991 conviction, seven of the nine witnesses against him have recanted their testimony. No physical evidence was presented linking Davis to the killing.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court rejected an appeal from Davis.

Protesters out in force as Accusers have Recanted

“The whole world is watching Georgia,” said Larry Cox, executive director of Amnesty International USA. “Nowhere in the world is there a more serious violation of human rights than what Georgia is about to do to Troy Davis.”

Davis, 40, was convicted of the Aug. 19, 1989 murder of 27-year-old Savannah police Officer Mark Allen MacPhail.

Since his trial, seven of nine key prosecution witnesses have recanted their testimony.

“If it was only one witness, that would be understandable. But seven of nine? That’s a different story,” said Ytunde Orumgbeni, of Atlanta. Unlike most of the protesters, Orumgbeni said she is not opposed to the death penalty.

“We have to do something,” she said. “I feel they’re taking an innocent life.”

District attorney: Troy Davis case, "I think he is Guilty

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -  Chatham County district attorney Spencer Lawton broke his silence in the paper, and tonight, on WTOC.

Seventeen years is a long time to bite one's tongue. Spencer Lawton is not pulling any punches.

Lawton says the case is over as far as he is concerned. The US Supreme Court has ruled. His gloves are off. While the Davis family and supporters claim Lawton has twisted the truth, and even lied, in recent editorials, Lawton says he's ready to set the record straight on the Troy Davis case.

"I think Davis is guilty. I think he shot a police officer to death. In cold blood," Lawton told WTOC.

Lawton rarely gives television interviews. "I have been very careful to keep my mouth shut about the case," he said.

The Chatham County district attorney has a lot to say now about the Troy Davis case, 17-years worth.

"What frustrates me is when they say things that just aren't true," Lawton said.  They, being the defense team behind Troy Davis, the NAACP and Amnesty International, along with an army of supporters who have joined the "Free Troy Davis" movement.

OPEC Cuts Oil Production Amid falling Oil Prices

OPEC has agreed to cut production due to rapidly falling oil prices.  Airlines and other Oil dependent companies rushed to buy call options to lock in the current prices. 

A call option means buyers can continue to buy oil at the current prices even though prices rise.  An example of this was South West Airlines who had locked in prices for their company before the rise up to near 150 dollars a barrel.  By doing so they were able to continue offering cheaper ticket prices while other airline had to increase ticket prices as oil continued to rise. 

Here we see that OPEC can alter production levels such that Americans are defendant upon them.  Recently the topic of Oil independence has moved off of the Presidential topics list.  One of the major problems with lowering oil prices is that folks stop focusing on getting America and other countries off of energy independence. 

This remains a national security issue and really should continue to be a topic for discussion even with lower prices. 

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries cut oil production targets for the first time in almost two years as the group battles to slow a collapse in prices.

OPEC decided to lower supply by 1.5 million barrels a day from November, oil ministers said today at the end of a meeting at the group's Vienna's headquarters. The reduction will be from the existing quota for 11 members of 28.8 million barrels a day.

``Demand is significantly less than what is being supplied, that is the reason the cut was taken,'' Saudi Arabian Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi said after the meeting. Crude oil has tumbled 57 percent from a July 11 record of $147.27 a barrel as the financial market crisis spreads, job cuts increase and fuel consumption slows. Prices fell as much as 7.7 percent today.

``OPEC has offered the market all the ammunition they had,'' said Robert Laughlin, senior broker at MF Global Ltd. in London. ``With the bearish economic outlook and manufacturing in freefall this accord is not good enough.''

See TV Interview with Joe Biden that Obama Campaign says is Out of Bounds

Orlando TV station WFTV will get no more contact with the Obama campaign following a tough interview with Vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden.  The campaign told Orlando channel 9 that the line of questioning was out of line. See Video

WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. She asked about ACORN's controversial voter registration and Sen. Barack Obama's comment about spreading the wealth.

Biden, Obama's running mate, evidently disliked West's line of questioning. The Obama campaign canceled an interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West."

WFTV news director Bob Jordan said, "When you get a shot to ask these candidates, you want to make the most of it. They usually give you five minutes."

Jordan said political campaigns in general pick and choose the stations they like. And stations often pose softball questions during the satellite interviews.

"Mr. Biden didn't like the questions," Jordan said. "We choose not to ask softball questions."

Jordan added, "I'm crying foul on this one."

UPDATE: Reader C.J. Burch emails: "He got a straighter run than Palin has. No one edited his answers. No one used false quotes against him. No one edited the video tape. No one took him out of context. No one pissed and moaned about his wardrobe or his hair plugs. No one has asked to see his kid's birth ceritifcate. Thin skinned much, Obama campaign?" Note that they're only getting these questions from local TV. There was a time when network folks laughed at softball local TV coverage, but in this election we've seen more hard coverage of Obama et al. from local media.

ANOTHER UPDATE: David Bernstein is sidin' with Biden. And TigerHawk calls the questions "obnoxious to the point of being ineffective." He also comments: "Second, journalists ask equally obnoxious, left-wing conspiracy-oriented questions of Republicans all the time. The effect is different, though, because we are used to seeing aggressive questioning in that direction."

ACORN Director Admits Wild Exaggeration of 1.3 Million Registered, Now says 450K

ACORN execuitive Director now says that the 1.3 million number they have been telling the press is a wild exagesation.  The number is actually closer to 450,000.  There is now some additional things coming to light.  The group was indeed giving cash incentives for quotas met.  Workers would take advantage of the quota system by fraudelently filling out forms for folks they really hadn't signed up or gave out cash and merchandise to people to sign-up on the street. 

On Oct. 6, the community organizing group ACORN and an affiliated charity called Project Vote announced they had registered 1.3 million new voters. But it turns out the claim was a wild exaggeration, and the real number of newly registered voters nationwide is closer to 450,000, Project Vote's executive director, Michael Slater, said in an interview.

The remainder were registered voters who were changing their address and roughly 400,000 registrations that were rejected by election officials for a variety of reasons, including duplicate registrations, incomplete forms and fraudulent submissions from low-paid field workers trying to please their supervisors, Slater acknowledged.

In registration drives, it is common for a percentage of newly registered voters to be disqualified for various reasons, although experts say the percentage is higher when groups pay workers to gather registrations. But the disclosure Thursday that 30 percent of ACORN's registrations were faulty was described by Republicans as further proof of what they said was ACORN's effort to unfairly tilt the election.

"We were wondering how many were Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse," said Danny Diaz, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee. "The group is really tainted, and any work they do is suspect."

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—A woman has filed a complaint claiming her 67-year-old mother was reduced to tears by a man who told her he was a private investigator with ties to the state Republican Party and questioned her right to vote.

A national voters rights group, Project Vote, has called on U.S. Attorney Greg Fouratt to investigate the state Republican Party and its contractors for violating the Voter Rights Act by trying to intimidate minority first-time voters into not casting their ballots.

ACORN Registers 53K in Minnesota

calls by state and national GOP groups to investigate ACORN, election officials in Hennepin and Ramsey counties say there is scant evidence of fraud, other than a few hundred late registration filings.

There are other kinds of problems. ACORN workers acknowledge that as many as a third or more of the registration applications they turn over to election officials are rejected for technical reasons, such as incomplete names, addresses and phone numbers. But they say that is not fraud.

Still, with 11 days to go before the election, ACORN's historic ties to Barack Obama and other Democrats have prompted GOP officials in Minnesota and elsewhere to raise questions about the group's voter registration work, questions that Democrats see as an orchestrated campaign to sling mud and suppress voter turnout.

One wonders what is wrong with Canadian justice when a man convicted of 29 offences, including kidnapping, robbery and sexual assault with a weapon is only given 8 years in prison, versus never seeing the light of day. Does the Justice system really, really think this guy is going to turn over a new leaf? Really?

Yep, par for the course in a Liberal Justice Society and Liberal Governed Toronto where law abiding Canadians have to ensure their doors are locked and look both way when walking in public when people like this guy are loose on our streets. A man who terrorized young women in 2006? Those in the know already say he cannot control his sexual appetite. No amount of prison will cure him.

And many wonder why some people are fed up and take the law into their own hands? Then all of a sudden Judges get all high and mighty, and enforce the letter of the law on those who do take the law into their own hands, Of course those who do end up serving life sentences, now you tell me where is the justice in that?

Stalker jailed for 15 years

TORONTO -- A man dubbed the "Summerlea Stalker" for terrorizing four couples and abducting women was sentenced yesterday to 15 years in jail and declared a long-term offender.

"This pattern of conduct satisfied me that Floyd Johnson is either unable to or doesn't care to control his sexual impulses," said Justice Michael Dambrot in sentencing Johnson, 34, and placing him under a 10-year supervision order.

"I don't have the slightest doubt this course of conduct would have continued had Mr. Johnson not been apprehended," said Dambrot. "It remains not simply likely, but highly likely that he will, in the future, engage in further (criminal) conduct."

Islamic clerics to ban tomboys

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Malaysia's main body of Islamic clerics has issued an edict banning tomboys in the Muslim-majority country, ruling that girls who act like boys violate the tenets of Islam, an official said Friday.

The National Fatwa Council forbade the practice of girls behaving or dressing like boys during a meeting Thursday in northern Malaysia, said Harussani Idris Zakaria, the mufti of northern Perak state, who attended the gathering.

Harussani said an increasing number of Malaysian girls behave like tomboys, and that some of them engage in homosexuality.

Well certainly not the jihadist many surmised was behind the terrorist bombing of a Northern British Columbia gas pipeline, more like a disgruntled 20 something with nothing better to do.  It seems this 21 year old is a suspect caught in  a sweep.

If the sexual assault charges are true, perhaps some time in the slammer will give him time to reflect, and plenty to do avoiding prisoners who wish to make a new friend.

RCMP arrest man in pipeline bombing probe

EDMONTON - The RCMP team investigating two pipeline bombings in northeastern British Columbia have reportedly arrested a man in Alberta.

News reports say the 21-year-old man was picked up on warrants not connected to the bombings near Dawson Creek, B.C., last week.

The warrants are reportedly for charges of sexual assault, assault and breach of conditions.

TOKYO -- A 43-year-old player in a virtual-world game became so angry about her sudden and unexpected divorce from her online husband that she logged on with his password and killed his digital persona, police said yesterday.

The woman used another player's ID and password to log onto the popular interactive game Maple Story to carry out the virtual murder in May, a police official in the northern city of Sapporo said.

Police said the woman admitted to carrying out her cyberspace revenge and has been jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data.

"I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry,' the official quoted her as telling investigators.

The woman, a piano teacher, had not plotted any revenge in the real world, the official said.

How Palin Governed

Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it’s sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or — or, well, all of the above. Palin, the governor of Alaska, has faced more criticism than any vice-presidential candidate since 1988, when Democrats and the press tore into Dan Quayle. In fact, Palin may have it even worse than Quayle, since she’s taking flak not only from Democrats and the press but from some conservative opinion leaders as well.
After John McCain unexpectedly chose Palin as his running mate, reporters raced to Alaska to look into her family life, including her teenage daughter’s pregnancy; into her per diem expense requests; into her controversial firing of the state’s public-safety commissioner; into her husband’s role as informal adviser; into the gifts she received; and into much more. Those investigations have yielded hundreds of stories. But Palin’s time in the governor’s office hasn’t been all, or even mostly, family drama and minor controversy. She was also, lest we forget, the state’s chief executive. So, what did she do every day? How deeply involved was she in the workings of government? What were her priorities?

And also: Before Palin moved into the governor’s office, she was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, population 7,028. How did she adjust to a big new job? Was she up to it? What was her learning curve? Discovering how she made that transition could tell us how she might handle becoming vice president.

Yes, there are legitimate concerns about Palin’s lack of experience. Who wouldn’t, at the very least, wish that she had more time in the governor’s office on her résumé? But a look at Palin’s 20 months in power, along with interviews with people who worked with her, shows her to be a serious executive, a governor who picked important things to do and got them done — and who didn’t just stumble into an 80 percent job-approval rating.

THE PALIN PIPELINE
The top issue of the 2006 Alaska governor’s race was whether, and how, to build a pipeline to bring the estimated 35 trillion cubic feet of natural gas under Alaska’s North Slope to market. Palin’s Republican predecessor, Frank Murkowski — a man who had spent nearly 22 years in the U.S. Senate before becoming governor — wanted to make a deal with three big oil companies, Exxon Mobil, BP, and Conoco Phillips.

A lot of critics, including Palin, thought Murkowski’s proposed deal gave too much to the companies. For one thing, it called for Alaska to relinquish its right to tax the pipeline, and instead agree to a series of payments from the oil companies — payments that would be locked in for as long as 45 years. In addition, the deal would have rewritten leases and other regulatory devices that the state normally controls. It was an unprecedented proposal, representing sweeping changes from the traditional way of doing business — and not to the state’s advantage.

Palin defeated Murkowski in the primary, and went on to win the governorship, on a platform of throwing out the old deal and starting fresh. Once in office, she was deeply involved in making that happen. “She had four principles she wanted to bring to the process,” says Joe Balash, who served as Palin’s special assistant for energy issues. “One, to have competition. Two, to have clear and objective measures of progress, because with a massive project like that it’s going to be years before any dirt turns. Three, there had to be a commitment to expansion [the pipeline would have to be big enough to handle more gas in the future]. And four, it had to be done without surrendering the state’s sovereignty.”

It was a big, and extraordinarily complex, task. There was no consensus on how it should be done. But Palin, by all accounts, assembled a first-rate group of people to come up with what eventually became a proposal to grant a license to the company TransCanada to build the pipeline. “I give her credit for hiring good people,” says Beth Kerttula, the Democratic minority leader in the Alaska house of representatives who worked with Palin on oil and gas issues and has lately emerged as one of Palin’s leading critics. “She had a strong team.”

There were times during the negotiations when it appeared Palin’s proposal would fall through, perhaps not even getting to a vote in the legislature. Associates say she was determined to prevent that. “She went literally from office to office asking that, regardless of how people intended to vote, that they permit a vote to take place,” Balash recalls. “If she hadn’t made those visits, it in all likelihood would never have come to a vote.”

And when she made those visits, she scored points with legislators of both parties. “On the issues where I worked with her, she listened, and in the long run, she even overrode her own team on things that House Democrats thought were important,” Kerttula recalls. Last summer, Palin’s strategy led to victory, when Alaska’s house and senate approved the TransCanada proposal.

Noting that Palin had also, in 2007, won a fight to raise taxes on the energy companies, the Anchorage Daily News reported that the pipeline deal “sealed the popular Republican governor’s second major victory in two years against not only her opponents in the Legislature but also major oil companies Palin sometimes has poked publicly.” Her approval rating soared.

RUFFLING A TON OF FEATHERS
Palin’s other top priority was an overhaul of the state’s ethics laws. It became something of a signature issue for her. In 2003, after she served as mayor of Wasilla and had run unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor, she was appointed to chair the state Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. While there, she became convinced that fellow commissioner Randy Ruedrich, the head of the Alaska Republican party, was conducting party business on the commission’s time. Palin filed an ethics complaint against Ruedrich, leading to a long and contentious investigation. In 2004, Ruedrich admitted guilt and agreed to pay a $12,000 fine, which was the largest such punishment ever in Alaska.

CNN Ambushes Palin With Out-Of-Context Quote

See Video then read the article.  CNN is not this stupid, incompetent, corrupt, is it?  I thought CNN did a pretty good job on the Presidential campaigns.  This one was way outside of their usual good Job.  CNN has not returned calls from the McCain campaign asking for an explanation.  Fox News O'Reilly Factor led with this story and had the writer of the article in the National Review on with him.  He related to the Fox Audience that anyone who read the article would see that the text was out of the context.  

During an interview with Palin, CNN pulled out a quote from National Review columnist Byron York that seemed to have York calling Palin stupid, among other things.

But the thing is that the words CNN attributed to National Review were taken out of context.

Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it’s sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or — or, well, all of the above. Palin, the governor of Alaska, has faced more criticism than any vice-presidential candidate since 1988, when Democrats and the press tore into Dan Quayle. In fact, Palin may have it even worse than Quayle, since she’s taking flak not only from Democrats and the press but from some conservative opinion leaders as well....

Yes, there are legitimate concerns about Palin’s lack of experience. Who wouldn’t, at the very least, wish that she had more time in the governor’s office on her résumé? But a look at Palin’s 20 months in power, along with interviews with people who worked with her, shows her to be a serious executive, a governor who picked important things to do and got them done — and who didn’t just stumble into an 80 percent job-approval rating.

That’s probably one of the worst media ambush/hatchet jobs I’ve ever seen.

Kentucky College Locked Down After False Reports of Shots Fired

A Kentucky college campus was on lockdown Wednesday after false reports of armed men at the school.

Kentucky State Police told FOXNews.com that police were not able to corroborate earlier claims of shots being fired or gunmen on the loose at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green — after initial reports of an incident near Pearce Ford Tower on the school's main campus.

"What we think happened was a group of individuals got in a fight, somebody called guns, we ran, no guns, no indication of guns," Lt. Phil Crumpton of the Kentucky State Police told FOXNews.com. "Meanwhile this group moves to another location for a fight, someone calls guns again. We all go running over there, hold the first location, nothing."

A third call off campus also yielded no evidence of weapons or shots fired, he said.

Earlier, police and school officials received reports of armed men spotted in a building on the school's South Campus and of gunshots near the tower.

"No one was shot," university spokesman Bob Skipper told FOX News.

Crumpton told FOXNews.com that police believe someone may have brandished a gun during the altercation, but weren't immediately able to confirm that either.

The incident prompted an advisory for students to remain indoors in secure areas until an "all clear" could be issued, according to the school's Web site. An earlier text message also falsely said that shots were fired near the Tower.

"Police have confirmed that there was a physical altercation not involving weapons between individuals that occurred in or near PFT, but the police are interviewing witnesses on the scene to determine if weapons were or are present, or if shots were fired," a message on the school's Web site said

Joe's Gaffe: Say It Ain't So

There is no question that when Barack Obama sat down and listed out the pros and cons of picking Joe Biden as his running mate, at the top of the "cons" he wrote: "has a propensity for making hard to explain gaffes." It was always part of the package with Joe, and everybody knew it.

Most of Biden's gaffes thus far - from putting FDR years out of place on the not-yet-invented boob tube to his rope line riff on clean coal in Pennsylvania - have been more or less easily waved away by the Obama campaign by saying, "well, that's just Joe being Joe."

But Biden's latest gaffe, caught on audio tape, has presented the Obama campaign with a bit of a problem. Given the seriousness of the subject matter - national security - and the explicitness with which Biden framed his remarks, the Obama campaign can't simply wave this one away as Joe being Joe. And saying their VP was temporarily out of his gourd doesn't work either.

But the Obama campaign has come up with a third way: deny that Biden said what he said. Here is Obama spokesperson Stephanie Cutter in an interview with Jane Skinner of Fox News this afternoon:

Skinner: You're saying that I'm misunderstanding what he said -

Cutter: Yes I am.

Skinner: Joe Biden didn't say that somebody would generate this specifically to test a brand new president who doesn't have a lot of experience. That's not what he meant?

Cutter: Well, he, no, what he [Biden] said was, either president is going to be tested...We are saying, as a campaign, let me make this clear, that Joe Biden was saying that whoever is president is going to be tested in the first six months of their presidency because of the world we are living in.

Well, no. For the record, here is what Biden said in Seattle:

"And here's the point I want to make. Mark my words. Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

Should McCain / Obama Name Cabinet before Election?

Ayers, Acorn, and Voter Fraud all in the news to divert attention from the Issues.  One of the newest Buzz on the Net is that Candidates should tell the people what their cabinet would look like.  Folks feel like they could make an informed decision if they knew who would be the Secretary of State, Defense, Homeland Security, and economic advisers in the cabinet of Obama and McCain.  

Is it a good idea for Senators McCain and Obama to show their hands before the election?

John Kerry the next secretary of State?

Republican Senator Chuck Hagel at the Pentagon?

Al Gore as Energy secretary?

These names and others are in the air as media speculation runs wild on the bipartisan “star” Cabinet Barack Obama has in mind if elected president. But some of these names might cost Obama votes in the key states he needs on Election Day, so Cabinet announcements will come after the votes are cast.

Fifty-three percent (53%) of U.S. voters say presidential candidates should announce at least some of their Cabinet choices before an election to help voters make a more informed decision.

Just 29% believe that’s not necessary, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Republicans and unaffiliated voters like the idea of Cabinet announcements before the election slightly more than Democrats. So do men voters compared to women.

Can John McCain lure Mayor Michael Bloomberg away from New York City to head the Treasury Department? Or Rudy Giuliani to be attorney general or secretary of Homeland Security?

After all, two-thirds of voters (66%) say the make-up of the Cabinet is Very important to the success of a presidential administration. Only one percent (1%) say the Cabinet choices are not important at all.

British Columbia Bars' plan to scan IDs might violate privacy laws: Rights Advocates Charge

With the rash of violence and murder resulting from bars, scanning everyones identification before entry, may give a potential troublemaker or violent offender second thoughts before committing assault or murder, if it can prove through identification scanning that they were at the crime scene.

Again, the Lefty Nancy Rights advocates are whining that it violates a persons rights to scan their identification, par for the course in a province with on of the highest murder and assault rates per capita in Canada.

But then of course, one knows full well these Righteous Turd Burglers of the Left Wing of British Columbia have never been a victim or received a phone call in the dead of night to come to the morgue to ID their loved one, a loved one, out celebrating life unbeknownst to them, it would be their last night on earth.

Until this province gets their act together, stop releasing repeat offenders and put them behind bars, with some you throw away the keys, identification scans for Bar patrons is a last resort to safeguard the safety of their patrons.

If it were up to me, I would like to drag these lefties by the scruff of the neck and bring them to a morgue where the latest teen was murdered and make them watch the autopsy, as well as meet the parents, such as the parents of a dead girl who was at a Vancouver nightclub a year and a half ago, who tried to help an assault victim and being the good samaritan that she was, got a deadly gunshot to the face for her efforts.

Bars' plan to scan IDs might violate privacy laws Similar Vancouver, Nanaimo programs already being investigated

B.C.'s privacy commissioner is investigating whether the practice of having bar patrons run their drivers licences through scanners at the door violates privacy laws.

If David Loukidelis rules that the Bar Watch program breaks the law, a program proposed for Victoria could be shut down before it gets going.

Loukidelis could also shut down existing Bar Watch programs in Vancouver and Nanaimo, and bar owners in those cities would likely be ordered to destroy databases full of their patrons' personal information.

A ruling is expected in a few weeks. Bar Watch is a program endorsed by bar owners and police and aims to reduce violent incidents at bars by documenting who enters the premises and who causes difficulties.

But privacy advocates are unhappy with the concept.

The privacy commissioner in Alberta in February banned collection and retention of data from bar patrons' drivers licences, saying the act violated privacy laws.

Alberta bar owners appealed and were allowed to continue the practice until a judicial review in Calgary on Dec. 18.

The case for exporting Cancer in Mineral form is Politics, plain and simple. Asbestos, Quebec is a small town, with a small population, but a big Liberal stronghold in the region by those whose livlihood is mining asbestos.

Asbestos comes in many forms, in it's raw form is serpentine, and actually looks like rough Jade, in which British Columbia has an abundance of both, hard to tell unless you take a dental pick and poke at the veins and fluff it up like dental floss.

My folks when they lived in Sacramento, Calif, had their neighborhood built entirely on top of a asbestos mountain.

Our rock was a pretty green jade colour, mixed with jade and green asbestos. Health Canada issued warnings about asbestos since the 1970s, though banned in Canada, it is still being exported, to numerous Liberal politicians it was a political hot potato, many say politicians in Quebec are part and parcel of a big asbestos lobby and fought tooth and nail to keep the asbestos machines humming along on that mountain in Asbestos, Quebec.

Currently there are thousands of uses for asbestos in thousands of manufactured products on the market. Europe did not ban asbestos until the early to mid 1990s, some flooring from Europe during that time could have found its way to Canadian markets.

Did you know that in North America virtually every home built before 1980, is 90% likely to have asbestos containing materials in it? Did you know at one time your oven mitts were asbestos?

Everything from drywall taping compounds (Plaster) ceiling texture, vinyl floor tile and vinyl sheet flooring, lighting shields, toaster and oven element shields, roof shingles and roof felts, as well as duct mastic (Black and Red) to bathroom grouts, transite boards and pipes and furnace tape on ductwork and attic insulation called Vermiculite etc.

Asbestos is the perfect fire retardant, so it was used everywhere including brake shoes. Many do not realise it when they sand their walls or do home renovations, so best take a sample of your drywall inside a corner of the wall a 2 inch by 2 inch sample, then send it to a lab for analysis before renovating.

Canada and North America even import Asbestos in manufactured form into both our countries,everything from flooring to fireproofing materials.

In manufactured form it is harmless until friable, whereby one can by mechanical or hand pressure reduce the asbestos in the material to the consistency of dust. Certainly almost impossible to do. 

Asbestos has it's uses in ships and planes, a fire aboard these two modes of transportation will have many thankful asbestos is on board, because without it protecting vital components, you would be at th bottom of davy jones locker or plummeting 20 thousand feet into the ground.  Again, it has it's uses.

Canada is the world's largest remaining exporter of chrysotile asbestos, a relatively benign form of the heat-resistant mineral whose other varieties ended myriads of human lives prematurely during its mid-century heyday as an insulating material and fire retardant.

In the latest edition of the Canadian Medical Association Journal, dated Tuesday, three contributors attack the government for this state of affairs.

The authors call Ottawa an "asbestos cheerleader," and compare its chrysotile policy to arms dealing and tobacco sales.

They point out that chrysotile is officially listed as a carcinogen by several agencies, and that it is now marketed chiefly to third-world countries as an additive to cement.

HAMILTON -- The ex-wife of the HIV-infected man accused of murdering two women by knowingly spreading the virus testified she attended counselling with the accused where he was warned of his duty to disclose his condition to sex partners.

Juliet Aziga's brief testimony came in the last few minutes of the second day of the landmark murder trial.

Her evidence, coupled with testimony from Johnson Aziga's doctor, helped the Crown paint a picture of the life of the HIV-positive man facing two counts of first-degree murder and 11 counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Court heard Aziga, a Ugandan immigrant who arrived in the early 1980s, was repeatedly warned after his diagnosis on how to prevent spreading the disease.

Aziga was also well-informed of his duty to disclose his HIV status to someone before having sex with them, court heard.

WASHINGTON - Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a website message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.

The message was posted Monday on the password-protected al-Hesbah website. It says if al-Qaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, "impetuous" Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain is the better choice.

It says that's because he's more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Parents Neb. have limited time to Get Rid of their Teens

Nebraska's safe haven law was designed to allow folks to drop off an unwanted infant  at a local hospital an other locations without worry of being prosecuted.  What the law didn't account for is parents began dropping off their troubled teens at a greater rate then infants.  Parents would also travel from outside of Nebraska with their problem teens and bring them to border towns to unload a difficult kid.

Parents will have to make a decision soon whether their child has promise as the law is about to be changed to include only infants in their first 72 hours of life.

Those in the know say Crime Stats are dropping in the last decade, looking at recent crime stats for just 30 days from September to October 2008, it makes me shake my head and go WTF?  You're kidding right? If this is a reduction, we are really screwed!

There is a place in Vancouver where Crime in Nil, take a look at the links below and see if you can find it.  If you look real, real hard you can find it.

Give up? It is my place, cause anyone thinking of breaking in, well let's put it this way, anyone who is foolish to break in to my place will get both barrels, and if he survives will need a Wheelchair Ramp access for the next house they intend to break into.

Below are crime states from assaults, breakins, theft in a tiny 11km by 11kn area in Vancouver, these stats are current and all the crimes committed below are just for a one month period from September to October 2008.

Ridiculous isn't it, Horrific is more the word I would describe it.

A friggin National Disaster is more like it.  No wonder the Media call British Columbia Crime Central in all of Canada.

Now you tell me Crime is not a problem in this city, which is for the most part 5 x 5 miles in diameter?

Cause apparently Politicians and Justices do not think it is a big concern apparently when they continue to release criminals time and time back into society time and time again.

The recent election had Liberals and New Democrats concentrating on Environment as a platform, leaving many to believe they didn't think Crime was a big problem, and voters let these two federal political parties know in no uncertain terms, Crime trumped Environment hands down, by saying to them enough is enough, giving the elected Conservatives in this country who thought crime was serious enough, to push forward a clear mandate to do something.

Remember Now Public Readers these crime stats published here are not for a whole year, they are just for one month. Shocking!

Time to fire the entire provincial justice system and hire judges who insist on crime and punishment and lock em up for good.

Residential break-ins still a problem Most are crimes of opportunity, with some offenders breaking in to five or six residences in a single day

Crime has been dropping in Vancouver over the past decade or so, but homeowners are still being hit hard by residential break-ins; less than once every two hours last month someone's home was broken into somewhere in the city.

Residents reported 349 break-and-enter crimes between Sept. 7 and Oct. 4, a five-per-cent hike over the previous 28-day period.

Most of the month-over-month increase, between 11 and 13 per cent, happened in the east, including the Downtown Eastside, according to frequent stats collected and charted by police to assist the department in identifying trends or trouble spots.
